The 'Toast' problem
Do you suffer from the 'Toast' problem with your solar system?
The problem...
You wake up in the morning and decide to have toast for breakfast. Your solar has been running all night with no charge from the sun.
You put your bread in the toaster, pop it down, and the power taken from the batteries drops the voltage below the minimum so the inverter, as it should do, starts the generator.
Two minutes later your toast pops up, all done. The power drain on your batteries drops off.
Now though your inverter has started the generator and it now runs for a full charge cycle which can be several hours.
Also, while the generator is running you are not benefiting from the full power from your solar panels as the voltage output from the generator is reducing the power being taken from the panels.
It works out an expensive piece of toast!
The solution...
The 'Power Control System' solves this problem.
When the power being taken exceeds the programmed start power for more than the designated time it automatically starts the generator.
When the load has been removed (toast pops up) it continues to run the generator for a preset time (a few minutes) to recover the charge in the batteries and then it shuts off the generator.
Result: cheap toast, your generator won't be running to do a full charge cycle and you will benefit from the full power from your solar panels.
